Silk Road embodies the exotic luxury of ancient spice routes, where precious resins traveled thousands of miles to reach eager markets. Premium Siam Benzoin (Styrax Tonkinensis) forms the heart—a superior grade with more refined sweetness than common varieties, bringing vanilla and subtle floral notes without heaviness. This isn’t the Benzoin most know, but something more elegant.
The surprise ingredient is Tonka Bean (Dipteryx Odorata), technically not a resin but a seed that releases extraordinary complexity when heated. Its sweet almond-vanilla character with hints of cinnamon and honey creates an almost edible quality that makes this blend irresistible. Combined with the Benzoin, it creates a creamy, luxurious sweetness unlike anything in traditional incense.
Opoponax (Commiphora Guidotti), sweet Myrrh, bridges the sweet and resinous elements with its unique balsamic character. Despite its name, it shares little with regular Myrrh’s bitterness, instead bringing butterscotch warmth with subtle lavender hints. Premium Dragon’s Blood (Dracaena Cinnabari), the world’s finest quality, adds depth and that distinctive dark color, while Dammar (Agathis Dammara) keeps everything from becoming too heavy with its light, lemony brightness.
Hand-crafted into beautiful dark pieces with an almost glossy, resinous surface that catches light like obsidian. The color is remarkably deep—ranging from dark burgundy through chocolate brown to nearly black, with scattered flecks of copper, amber, and lighter tones where different resins show through. Each piece has substantial weight and a slightly tacky feel that speaks to the rich resin content.
Burns best on the included mica plate at moderate heat—around 180-200°F for electric burners. The evolution is luxurious: creamy sweetness opens the experience, followed by complex balsamic middle notes, finishing with surprising brightness from the Dammar.
