Morrow Dust captures the essence of ancient Arabian incense routes, built around rare resins that most people never encounter. The heart is Ethiopian Mirafur Frankincense (Boswellia Rivae)—wilder and more complex than its cultivated cousins, with earthy, almost mushroom-like undertones beneath the typical citrus brightness. This isn’t the polished church frankincense most know; it’s raw, primal, and deeply grounding.
Mastic (Pistacia Lentiscus), the crystalline resin from Mediterranean islands, brings unexpected freshness. Chewed as gum since ancient times, it releases pine and cedar notes with a clean, almost mentholated quality when burned. It cuts through heavier resins like a cool breeze through desert heat.
My Yemeni Myrrh (Commiphora Ornifolia) here is special—more aromatic and less bitter than common varieties, with complex medicinal notes that ancient traders prized above gold. Combined with Aloe Gums (Aloe Barbadensis)—not the common Aloe Vera gel, but the rare resinous heartwood—which brings its own mysterious character: simultaneously sweet, bitter, and deeply herbal with an almost metallic edge that’s impossible to describe but unmistakable once experienced.
Hand-crafted into irregular pieces with a distinctly earthy appearance. The texture is rough and granular, like compressed desert sand, with colors ranging from pale wheat through warm caramel to deep chocolate brown, all with a dusty, matte finish. Each piece shows the natural variation of the combined resins, creating a mottled, stone-like appearance.
Burns best on the included mica plate at moderate heat—around 180-200°F for electric burners. The smoke starts bright and herbaceous from the Mastic and Frankincense, then deepens as the Myrrh and Aloes warm, creating layers that shift between medicinal, earthy, and mysteriously sweet. This is ancient incense—complex, contemplative, and unlike anything in the modern market.
