Premium Benzoin (Styrax Benzoin), a sweet vanilla-like resin from Southeast Asian styrax trees, forms the foundation with its distinctive warmth. I use first-cut quality—the initial harvest that captures the purest, sweetest essence. Combined with Golden Copal (Bursera Microphylla), the opening is immediately inviting, almost edible in its honey-like sweetness.
Ethiopian Frankincense (Boswellia Papyrifera) brings unexpected brightness to what could be a heavy blend. This variety has a more pronounced citrus character than its Arabian relatives, cutting through the sweetness with clean, church-like clarity. It’s the same Frankincense that has perfumed Ethiopian Orthodox ceremonies for centuries, chosen specifically for its uplifting quality.
The secret ingredient here is Opoponax (Commiphora Guidotti)—sweet Myrrh—which despite its name shares little with regular Myrrh’s bitter earthiness. Instead, it brings a balsamic sweetness with hints of butterscotch and lavender. It acts as a perfect bridge, marrying the bright Frankincense with the sweet base resins into something cohesive and balanced.
Hand-crafted into distinctive pieces with a rough, almost coral-like texture. The color palette ranges from pale cream through warm sand to deep amber, with a crystalline, sugary surface that catches light beautifully.
