Forest Temple

Forest Temple brings together resins from ancient groves across three continents. The foundation is built on American Pinyon Pine (Pinus Monophylla)—that sweet, almost butterscotch resin that indigenous peoples of the Southwest have burned for centuries—balanced with true European Spruce (Picea Abies), sticky and bright when fresh.
What makes this blend special is how the Frankincense varieties play against the conifers. I use two distinct types that create unexpected depth—Dakkara Frankincense (Boswellia Neglecta) brings an unusually deep, almost chocolate-touched base note, while Royal Green Hojari (Boswellia Sacra) lifts the entire blend with lemony brightness. These aren’t fighting for attention; they’re creating layers that reveal themselves as the resin heats.
The wild card here is Galbanum (Ferula Galbaniflua). Ancient Egyptians called it “green incense” for good reason—it’s intensely fresh, almost sharp, like plant sap still running. Just enough to bridge the gap between forest and temple, keeping the blend from becoming too sweet or heavy.
Hand-crafted into irregular pieces with a deeply textured, bark-like surface. The color ranges from dark chocolate brown to black, with subtle copper and amber flecks visible where the different resins merge. Pieces vary from small pebbles to walnut-sized chunks that can be broken down as needed.
Burns best on the included mica plate at moderate heat—around 180-200°F if using an electric burner. Charcoal works but can run hot; place the mica plate over the charcoal tablet’s depression for gentler heating. Start low and let it warm gradually for the full progression from bright coniferous opening through the resinous heart to that warm, balsamic finish.
