Soul Smoke

Soul Smoke is my namesake blend—the one that started it all. It represents everything I believe incense should be: balanced, complex, and made from nothing but pure tree resins. The foundation combines Golden Copal (Bursera Microphylla) with White Copal (Bursera Bipinnata), creating that distinctive bright, almost effervescent quality that makes Copal so beloved. Clean, slightly lemony, with an energy that feels like sunshine.
My carefully sourced Benzoin (Styrax Benzoin) adds the sweet anchor—that warm, vanilla-like embrace that makes this blend instantly comforting. This first-cut harvest captures the purest, sweetest essence of the resin. Mastic (Pistacia Lentiscus) brings unexpected freshness, its pine-cedar notes preventing the blend from becoming too heavy or cloying.
The complexity comes from the careful balance between Myrrh’s (Commiphora Myrrha) ancient bitterness and Dragon’s Blood’s (Daemonorops Draco) sweet warmth. Neither dominates; instead, they create a subtle dance that evolves as the blend burns. The Dragon’s Blood also contributes that beautiful pink hue that makes these pieces instantly recognizable.
Hand-crafted into distinctive, organically formed pieces with a soft, almost velvety texture. The color is uniquely beautiful—a dusty coral-pink that ranges from pale peach to deeper rose, with subtle grey undertones that give it an earthen quality. The surface has a fine, powdery finish that feels organic and natural. Each piece shows slight variations in color intensity where different resins concentrate.
Burns best on the included mica plate at moderate heat—around 180-200°F for electric burners. The progression is perfectly balanced: bright Copal and Mastic open the experience, Benzoin’s sweetness emerges as it warms, while Myrrh and Dragon’s Blood provide a complex, evolving base. This is daily incense—approachable yet sophisticated, simple yet deep.
